In Calders, LAH participants have been getting involved in a tool shed build, which will help to clear space in the community garden’s existing shed so that it can be used as a social space for the community to come together. The build involved checking the foundations were level, helping teach others to correctly use a drill and saw, and fitting the roof before any wet weather arrived.

Six Lend a Hand participants have contributed to the construction of the shed since it started in late January 2024. The group has been so committed, hard-working, and have brought a lot of experience to the build. They’ve been making such good progress that they’re already beginning work on other landscaping tasks, such as rebuilding the garden’s paths.
