The community growing project in Broomhouse is a partnership of Space and Broomhouse Community Growing Association. The initiative got off the ground in 2017 with a community growing study delivered by Edible Estates (see below). Community Growing site and orchard have been established (see below), and the partners hope to develop further sites over the coming years.

Northfield & Piershill
Edible Estates are working with residents in the Northfield area of Edinburgh to establish a community growing project. A community association has been set up and the group members have been involved in planting wildflower areas and fruit bushes in the local area. Leith & Bonnington
Community Backgreens Our work in Leith dates back to 2004-8 when Edinburgh Community Backgreens Association (ECBA) worked with tenement dwellers to set up, three ‘community backgreens’, Strawberry Field, Sunshine on Leith Gardens (SOL) and Foxfield (more info on the Leith projects below).
