Across May, Canal View Primary School Farm pupils have been sowing and caring for fast growing crops like radish and salads, with hopes to have a harvest before the summer holidays. Meanwhile, their tomato plants have been potted-up and kept in the warmth of the polytunnel until the cool nights have passed. The P6 class have planted second early potatoes which they hope to eat when term starts in August, while the P5 classes have been taking part in Scotland the Bread’s Soil to Slice project and planted wheat seeds, which have seen great germination, and will hopefully be used to make bread come the autumn.
