We’re delighted to be facilitating the return of Natural Play Sessions in Murrayburn & Hailesland, courtesy of the Murrayburn & Hailesland Community Park Association, and delivered by The Green Team Edinburgh & Lothians.
Spaces are limited to 20 children so please book your child’s place as soon as possible.
Suitable for children aged 5-12 years old, as well as pre-school age children (who must be accompanied by an adult). We also welcome any parents/guardians to volunteer and lend a helping hand.
Starting Friday 8th October, sessions will run weekly every Friday from 1:30-3:30pm.
We’ll meet at the Murrayburn and Hailesland Community Garden before setting off to explore the local natural area.
Natural Play is a fantastic opportunity for children and young people to have fun using their imaginations by exploring local woodlands and green spaces, interacting with the natural world through outdoor games, and using loose materials to create dens, props and much more. The sessions encourage ‘free play’ whereby the children play without adult interaction. These sessions will be lead by Margon from The Green Team, who have been delivering outdoor activity programmes for young people since 1995, blending outdoor fun with environmental education. It’s guaranteed to be a great start to your kids’ weekend, and a fantastic way for them to burn off some energy while learning about the natural world around them!
