Community Food Hubs
Edible Estates is working with partners across Edinburgh to establish community food hub projects. We are seeking to bring together the various stakeholders in each area to provide a coordinated and collaborative approach to food insecurity/poverty.
Taking the lead from Scottish Government’s Dignity Report, our approach is two fold, to work with local partners to prepare Community Food Plans for each community, and where appropriate establish Community Food Hubs by working with the local communities and partners.
We will be delivering our own food growing and community meal projects, ensuring that they compliment existing services, and working with partners to promote all projects to the local communities they serve.
We have been funded by Scottish Government’s Investing in Communities programme to develop hubs in Craigmillar and Wester Hailes. Information about these projects will be posted below shortly. In the meantime for further information contact our Development Officers:-
