People & Communities Funding Confirmed for Wester Hailes

The Scottish Governments People & Communities Fund have approved £113,000 funding for the Wester Hailes project.  This will support the continued development of the project for 2015/16.

Clovenstone Estate Growing Hub Completed

The Clovenstone Estate Growing Hub was launched in September 2014 with a community fete.  This was the second Hub to be developed in Wester Hailes.  The Hub provides growing spaces for 35 residents.

Wardieburn Update

The Wardieburn Community Backgreen project resulted in the construction of one site which created 11 new growing spaces, unfortunately we were unable to move on to complete the second site.

Wardieburn Backgreens Site Start

After a long wait.  Work has finally started on site with the first of two community food growing projects in Wardieburn (Edinburgh).  The project is being delivered by Re:Solution, in partnership with Premier 1, (Edinburgh Council’s term contractor for landscaping).

Funding Approved For South East Edinburgh Edible Estates

Edible Estates in South West Edinburgh

We are working with Wester Hailes Health Agency to investigate the opportunities to establish community food growing and other community greenspace initiatives in three neighbourhoods in South West Edinburgh.  This is really exciting for us to work with local residents and stakeholders to develop whole estate strategies.
